Sortify

This is a fun and basic website meant for students to do sorting activities. This could be a simple sub plan on an IWB too! Click on any image below for the link.

Sortify is exactly what it says: a sorting game. What sets it apart, however, is that you pick the labels for the baskets. If you're working on instrument families, select those, but if you're thinking of a multi-cultural unit or classification based on reed vs. valve, select those labels for bins. Once students put cards in each bin, they do not receive immediate feedback, but instead must submit their bin for grading. They are awarded points based on correct answers, and they lose points for missed answers.

Since this is offered through Brainpop, it's very user-friendly and even offers the opportunity to create your own sorting activity. This could be especially helpful if you have a specific unit you'd like to develop an assessment for.
